1. Change your filter regularly
Checking fluid levels regularly and changing the fluids and filters periodically can minimize the risks of breakdowns and prolong the life of the engine, transmission, cooling system and brakes.
You need to change air filters, fuel filters and oil filters on a regular basis to keep your engine performing well. In countries with high sulfur fuel, you need to change your fuel and oil filter in half the recommended time. Air filter needs to be changed every two months in rural areas and deserts, and windy and dusty countries. Most folks change their oil filter when they are draining and replacing their engine oil and fuel filter every six months.
2. Check and replace Fluids
A car is a machine and like any machine it needs oil replaced on a regular basis. Engine oil needs to be changed every 5000 miles, engine coolant flushed and replace every six months and transmission fluid every two years or every 30,000 miles whichever comes first. Flush and replace your brake fluid and power steering every two years.
Engine oil is the one that needs to be looked at regularly. A few years ago you were asked to check the oil level every time you went to the petrol pump but now it is fine if you check the engine oil level every month and fill it if it is below the safe level.
3. Drive safely



Nothing reduces a car's value and longevity than an accident so safe driving habits are essential. Follow all traffic rules and avoid speeding. Don't drive drunk and avoid texting and talking on mobile phone while driving. Avoid driving when you are tired and drowsy.
4. Don't drive as much and avoid short trips
The more you drive your car, the more wear and tear it gets. If you walk as much as possible to nearby destinations, you not only improve your health, you also increase your car's life.
A large numbers of short trips of 10 minutes and less cause a lot of wear and tear as cars don't have the time to reach optimum operating temperature. Walk if possible or combine a number of errands for a longer trip.
5. Get annual checkup done
Find a good honest mechanic and get a thorough maintenance done at least once a year. The mechanic will check your battery, check and change your fluids and filters, check air-conditioner refrigerant, get your tires rotated and balanced and your alignment checked, change your spark plugs and replace your wipers if necessary, He will thoroughly clean up your vehicle innards and ferret out any possible problem with the car and recondition it as new.
6. Choose a good car
If you want your car, pickup truck or SUV to last then research the model and its track record. Stick with major brands as Toyota, Ford, Nissan and Mercedes-Benz and you cannot go wrong. If you want a pickup go for the Indestructible Toyota Hilux, if you are looking for a Sport Utility Vehicle then Toyota Fortuner, Toyota Prado or Toyota Land Cruiser are good options.   • Why buy used?
A used car (be it 1000 miles or 100,000 miles) is much cheaper than that same car when bought brand new off the lot (obviously). Craigslist, aka private party, lets us find these cars for the best price. Read on to learn how to become a master of the used car buying and selling process.
  • Finding the right car
First, find a budget that you are willing to work with. If you do not have the cash, and if the car qualifies, a bank or credit union may offer a loan.
Always refer to KBB (Kelly Blue Book) for the current private party value of the car you are purchasing. This will give you a better idea on how much you should be paying for the car, as well as potential negotiating power to lower the price.
If not familiar with cars, we suggest finding a shop to do a Pre Purchase Inspection. That way you know the mechanical condition and can use it as negotiating power. The thing to remember with all used car buying tips, you must always negotiate the price.
Pro Tip Most people expect to get lowballed, so they set the price much higher than what they would really like to get.
A Note on Smog
If you live in a state that requires a SMOG check, make sure that the seller has a smog certificate included. Verify that the smog was completed within 90 days, otherwise it is not valid for transfer of ownership (CA).
Double check to make sure the registration is current. A lot of times, people sell their car for a cheap price only because they cannot smog it due to a Check Engine Light, or other issues.
  • Setting up for finding the right deals
On the Craigslist page, navigate to your location's web page, then click Cars and Trucks by Owner. In the search settings, set the range from $0 - (Your Max Limit). I like to add about 20% to my max limit to allow for cars that can be negotiated within the budget.
After you save your search settings, and refresh your page, you will see all the vehicles in your area that are for sale.
Pro Tip Save this Craigslist page to your home screen on your phone and your computer, that way its quick access and you do not have to mess with the settings again.
If you have this on your home screen you will see it more often, reminding you to check the listings and therefore increasing chances of finding the killer deal.
  • Contacting the seller
Remember, these used car buying tips apply for all private party car buying platforms, not just Craigslist. When I sell a car, the biggest thing I hate is when people ask "is the car still available?".
Be polite, but do not waste anyone's time. Contact the buyer through phone call when possible. If it's a smokin' deal, it will NOT last on Craigslist. The phone is the quickest and most direct method. Do not dilly dally around and have the sweet deal scooped up by a car dealer!
When buying a car, I look at the person selling me the car just as much, if not more, than the car itself. Mainly, it shows me what kind of treatment and service history the car received. If the person was older, spoke intelligently, and looked wealthy, we found that most times the car was in great shape to match.
Most Important Questions to Ask
  • "How long have you had the car?"
  • "What kind of maintenance have you done with the car"
  • "Why are you selling the car?"
  • "Are there any leaks or major mechanical problems?"
Ask these questions over the phone, and try to get a general understanding of the car's shape before going out to see it, especially if its a long distance.
Saving time is key, you would be surprised how often people say "The car is flawless" on the ad. Asking these questions lets you determine if they are honest.
Set up an appointment to see the car if you feel like the information you've gathered about the car matches what you're looking for.
  • Getting Ready to Meet and Test Drive
When meeting with a seller, I always bring:
  • Scan Tool for Monitors / Codes
  • Powerful Flashlight (I recommend Streamlight flashlights)
  • Pivoting and extendable mirror to check for leaks
  • My Drivers License / ID
  • Cash (I bring cash with me, but leave it in the car. I only do this if the amount is under $3000. Anything past that I just go to the bank with the seller and get them the cashiers check or cash when the deal is done).
Anti-Lemon Used Car Inspection Checklist
Before the meeting
  • Verify the sellers has the necessary paperwork, aka Pink Slip, proof of registration, and smog certificate (if required by state). Although not necessary, print out a copy of the bill of sale form.
  • Use CarFax or Autocheck to run a VIN background on the vehicle. This is key!
  • Set up personal guidelines to the maximum amount willing to spend on the car.
  • Make sure you have the funds ready, or instant access to them in the payment form the seller prefers.
  • Advise the seller you want the car to be COLD for your test drive. We want a cold engine to get a complete analysis. This is a key part to the used car inspection checklist!
At the car
  • Engine Inspection - Use the combination of the pivoting mirror and flashlight mentioned above to peek behind components and around the valve cover, checking for leaks. Inspect everything carefully, pay special attention to the serpentine belt area and leaks around the valve covers.

  • Check for Codes - Connect the scanner and make sure there are no engine codes. Make sure the monitors for smog are all completed - if not, be suspicious.

  • Check the body panels and paint, does it all look even? Is the texture the same everywhere? Look for panels that are a slightly different color or hue, which may indicate a sign of collision that was already repaired.

  • Check all the paperwork before starting the drive - make sure they own the car and that they have a pink slip with their name on it.

  • Check tires. Are they a matching set? Good Tread? Any signs of uneven wear? Could mean bad alignment or an accident in the past that prevents proper alignment.

  • Check brake pad thickness through the wheels if possible.

  • Check maintenance records (see if big service items have been done, like timing belt and water pump if the engine is a timing belt engine)

  • Check condition of oil. Open the oil filler cap and look under for any foamy, milky substances, which MAY indicate sludge or head gasket issues.

  • Upon vehicle start up, check the exhaust pipe for smoke. Listen to the engine for any uneven running aka "misfire" and try to smell for coolant or oil burning off which would indicate a leak.

  • Look over the serpentine belt(s) and all other engine components for any signs of damage, wear, or leaks.

  • Peek under the car to check for leaks, rust, and damage.
During the Test Drive
  • Engine Check - Make sure to use some power and get the engine to a high RPM (don't redline someone else's car). Have the windows down and constantly monitor for noise from the engine, as well as the suspension. Note how the vehicle idles, it should be smooth for the most part. Keep checking the instrument cluster for warning messages as well as overheating. Be keen to any burning oil or coolant smells.

  • Brake Test - Come to some stops at different speeds/intensities and try to listen for screeching or grinding noises

  • Alignment Check - During the test drive, while on a somewhat even road, let go of the steering wheel for a few moments and see if the vehicle drifts to one side. Keep in mind, most roads have "road crown" and will slightly cause all cars to drift to the right, but a barely noticeable amount.

For manuals, do a clutch test by engaging 4th gear at a slow speed and go wide open throttle - see if the clutch slips (the rpms will climb extremely fast like you are in neutral).

  • Wiggle Test - At about 30 mph roll down your windows do a few quick left to right steering wheel maneuvers. Listen to the suspension and chassis - it should not make ANY noises while doing this.

  • Suspension Check - Go over some bumpy roads, and take some angled driveways / turns. Listen for any binding suspension components which will present itself with a loud knock. Also listen for failing wheel bearings by rolling up all your windows and checking for a loud whirring rotational noise.

  • Interior and Features - Finally, check all the features. This means A/C, reverse camera, navigation, etc. Check all window motors by rolling up and down the windows. Make sure everything is working to your desire.
During the Test Drive, DO NOT:
  • Drive the car like you are taking a hot lap around the Nurburgring
  • Go on an extended period test drive unless agreed upon with seller
  • Do anything that would put you or the car at risk, cosmetically or mechanically.
Remember - an honest seller will often also have a car that is in fairly decent shape. Verify that the story they tell you matches the clues you see with the car.
Ask one of the previous questions to see if the answer remains the same this time around. If something doesn't match up, chances are the seller is hiding something, and I would investigate further.
"Gut Feeling" plays a big role in this game. Be alert to your senses and you will not buy a lemon. This is one of the key used car buying tips.
  • Inspecting the Car
If inspecting yourself, print out and follow our Inspection Checklist
Make sure to find a professional shop to do a Pre Purchase Inspection if you are not mechanically inclined. Anything wrong with the car, especially when NOT told about by the seller, can be potentially used to reduce the selling price or to save you from thousands of dollars in losses.
One of the used car buying tips I want you to take away from this is that any car can be a "good deal" so long as the issues within the car are discovered and price lowered to compensate.
Seal the Deal
First, before anything else, make sure they have the pink slip, as well as the smog certificate. Verify they are the owner by asking to see their ID and matching it to the name on the pink slip.

There's no word yet on pricing, availability or even key specs like the CPU, GPU and memory. There is also an options for sensor damping which allow you to tune the senosr according to the placement of mouse.
You can also save 10 different profiles for individual sensor. Others functions of the software are same just like others softwares. The software is also exceptionally light weight that it will not take any much place of your Ram or hard disk.
I tested this mouse with Battlefield 4, league of legends, Prince of Persia and batman. I had no issues with the performance of the mouse. The mouse is extraordinarily responsive with every game. In the battlefield 4, the sniper button helped me a lot just like a handy pistol.
So should I buy this mouse or not?. Well for me the mouse has many options that full fill all the requirements for average PC gamers. If you this mouse is in your budget then you should go for this because it would be the last mouse of your life for games you will not find any better replacement. But if you have low budget than Logitech G900 or Razer Mamba are also best gaming mouse for hardcore MMO gamers.

This is it. The race of your life. Head to head. Nose to nose. Flag to flag for the championship of the world. And only your best friend - or your worst enemy - stands in your way as you chase each other around 32 fiendishly tricky racetracks scattered from Paris to Rio.
Then there was the SNES trilogy known as "Top Gear" (or "Top Racer" as it was known as in Japan). The sequels after the first TG became more advanced as far as options for races, cars, designs, and required "money" to purchase parts and accessories won from high pole places in a race. The original Top Gear is valued for the fact that it was simplistic in nature: chose your name, chose your transmission (auto or manual), and chose your controller layout, and a car, and just race!
You each choose your car carefully for speed. handling and power. Grab the controls, and punch it down the blacktop. This is awesome splitscreen racing at its best, and it takes all your skill, courage and splitsecond timing to stay on the road, day after day, night after night, past roadblocks, barriers and pitstops. So gear up. Get your motor running. And go for the nitro. There's only room in the winner's circle for one!


Graphics:
The graphics in this game do their job well a neat opening screen is followed by a well laid out options screen which includes an impressive (by SNES standards) digitized photo behind the text. In the game itself the graphics are pretty good and the cars themselves are well drawn. One effect in top gear I have never seen anywhere else is the way that during some races day changes to night and vice versa which improves or worsens your visibility.
Also back drops are unique to each track, you can see the leaning tower of Pisa in Pisa, the Eiffel tower in Paris etc. The pit lane is also well animated and the speedometer, timer.Are intuitively laid out so you can glance at them quickly without crashing. I also liked the little speech bubbles coming out of the side of the car whenever you crash into another car or use a nitro. For example if you get caught in a group of cars and you keep banging into them the driver will say something like 'get outta my way' or 'are you blind'.
The Controls:
The controls are in a word faultless. you have 4 control options including a left handed option where you hold the SNES pad upside down. Maneuvering your car is simplicity itself as is cornering. overtaking on high speed corners is no problem as you can go full speed round the outside or take a small speed drop and pass on the inside.The brake and nitro buttons are easy to reach requiring just a roll of the thumb to reach. In manual gears mode a simple tap of the R or L buttons will take you up or down a gear.
Music and Sound FX:
I have to say I think Top Gear has the best music in any of the earlier racing games. The title song is a classic (It is also the ending music for lotus1 on the genesis) and the in game tracks are also perfect and always seem perfect for whatever track you are on, high notes seem to coincide with sharp turns and generally the music has a rhythm that manages to get the adrenaline going as you are tearing round hairpin bends. The sound effects of the car (skidding, engine noise etc.) are also perfectly recaptured.
Gameplay:
Top Gear's Strong point is its thrilling gameplay. The fact that its permanently split screen (like Mario Kart) will always have you competing against another "human" player is it's trump card. If you are playing in one player mode the second players car is controlled by the SNES and it will have to refuel just like you. In two player mode player 2 will control this car. In each race there are 20 cars and your position on the starting grid is determined by your finishing position in the previous race e.g) if you finished 1st you begin the next race in 20th, 2nd = 19th and so forth.
When you finish first on any given track in a country, you earn 20 points, 2nd place earns 15 points, 3rd place earns 12, 4th place earns 10, and 5th place earns 8. That is the cut off point however, because if you do not finish a given track 5th place or better (out of 20 cars), you will not advance to the next track. In addition, you must finish at least 3rd or better on any given country or continent in order to advance to the next country.
There are 32 tracks over eight areas around the world: the United States, South America (mainly in Brazil, but oddly it includes one track in Mexico), Italy, Germany, Japan, France (including one track in Monaco), The United Kingdom, and Scandinavia (Sweden, Finland, Norway, and Denmark).
In addition, you can choose one of four cars, most of which contrast sharply from one another. The white car is best for fuel consumption but on average it clocks the lowest speed, while the red car is the fastest on average but drinks gasoline like water. The blue and purple cars share a similar speed and gas usage rate, but the blue car handles more soundly around turns then the purple car does.
There are big differences between each car and playing the game with a different car makes each play feel like a different game as depending on your car you could have a very manueverable machine or something that handles like a brick on wheels. (when driving the blue or red car it becomes much more difficult to overtake and avoid objects). Or you could have a vehicle that needs to be refuelled once, twice or not at all on a particular track.
Also acceleration varies which is crucial when you're starting off or just after a bad crash or pit stop.the nitro power also varies from car to car also which affects the duration and overall speed boost. Also max speed comes into play also some cars 'hold' speed better than others and do not seem to slow down as much after a nitro boost or a steep hill.
When your low on fuel you have to pit stop to do this simply steer into the pit lane and when your fuel level is sufficient drive out again. Pit stops require tactics as pitting early in the race will give you more time to catch up. If you do run out of fuel it does not mean you are out of the race as your car drifts forward for a while and if another car hits the back of you will start moving again.
Because of this its possible to do a whole lap with out fuel until you either manage to finish or reach the pits. Although more than likely you will lose a lot of positions waiting to get hit or stop in a lane where no other cars even goes. In 2 player mode you can just get the other guy to give you a push though.
The tracks are all well designed and on the longer courses it is possible to have many different tactics about when to refuel or nitro. Some tracks like the black forest are true to life as this track is full of steep hills just like the real place. The speed in Top Gear is phenomenal, it is not un-playably fast but it's devastatingly quick and smooth when compared to the likes of F-Zero and Mario Kart which are sluggish and seem slow in comparison.
Challenge Factor:
Top Gear has three difficulty levels the higher levels make the computer cars faster and more aggressive and also add more obstacles to the course. Although completing the game is not too difficult you should try to finish first in every race, as any loser can finish fifth. also you should try and beat the course record which is shown on the pre-race screen.
As well as that you should attempt to complete the game with every car like in the red car you can not afford to crash and you can hit speeds of around 240 mph if you are good. The red car also guzzles fuel like there is no tomorrow but goes a lot faster than the blue and the white car. To sum up the white car is for beginners, the blue and purple cars for intermediary players, while the red is for the pros.
Final Thoughts:
Top Gear does not hold a lot of weight in the history of racing games because it does not have the super deluxe choices, features, and add ons like it's sequels did, or other games that would follow it on other systems. And that is a shame, because not only is Top Gear simplicity in its most compelling form as far as strictly racing goes, but it also paved the way for other games to copy the system it implemented and make it even better, solely from a gameplay stand point.
If you have an SNES and want to re-live a glorious Pre-whacked out racing Era of games, Top Gear would be one of those you will want to get your hands on. The experience will give you arguably be one of the best racing games ever in your collection.
